What is the news on the Andrew Seok video “Birth of a Song” and its song “Who I Forgot To Be”?

Andrew wrote this beautiful song and approached me to record it. I happily agreed and Vanessa Sears then came on board as the other half of our duet. In exchange, Andrew agreed to make this a fundraiser for ETC.  People will be able to download the video and song for donations to ETC, and in turn ETC will provide a share of those donations to Black Lives Matter Global Coalition’s registered charity  . . .

Yes,  the poster features a note on supporting both ETC and Black Lives Matter.

Yes – at ETC we have developed a statement to support the anti-racism campaigns happening globally – and that statement will shortly be featured on our site under “Who We Are”.  But of course we know that action speaks louder than words – so we will be sharing  proceeds from the campaign to retail the material that will start this month sometime.   Andrew Seok is an amazingly accomplished writer and producer – and his video and song were in this month’s Toronto Fringe Collective and very well received.

And a closing question – what is next for us on ETC’s list , after 11 nominations and 3 wins for Doras this past year?

Well, we are going to see where the Covid-19 takes us, but we are still planning the first run of our new musical collaboration ‘Call It Love’ in the summer of 2021!  All of us at ETC want to see actors back on the stage and use our artform to continue exploring our shared human connection and understanding.  We have hope.
