What's in a Name?

Eclipse Theatre Company.

Chilina and Evan spent many hours coming up with a name for our company. We won’t bore you with the other ideas… but ‘Crossroads' may have been discussed. I know, it sounds like a 1980’s movie starring Patrick Swayze. Hence… they didn’t call it that.  So why Eclipse Theatre Company? (Other than the fact that ETC implies that we always have something extra up our sleeve to share with you).

Well, an Eclipse is a unique and exciting event that brings community together. An audience gathers to watch an Eclipse. They gather to share in the magic of individual celestial bodies coming together to create a mysterious and exhilarating experience. This is what we are striving to create with our theatre events. By focusing primarily on site responsive work and allowing the architecture around us to help tell the story, we can bring our version of a theatrical “eclipse” to life. But, don’t worry, we won’t make you wear a box on your head... this year.
