UPDATE ON SPRINGART, WITH VINCE KENNEDY, PLANNER BY WENDY B., ARTS REPORTER 25 MARCH 2021

How is SpringArt, the Charity Art Auction coming?

Well, as always, these kinds of activities always take some time and effort, but SpringArt is moving ahead. The on-line silent auction will open at www.32auctions/SprintArt.com at 10 am Saturday, 24 th April. It will close on 7 or 8 May – right up close to Mother’s Day! We have not finalized how we will end the Auction – that will depend a little on the dreaded Covid! All detail will be broadly advised in the second week of April.

What are you auctioning?

It is an art auction – along with some Curiosities. We have had some generous contributions for individuals and companies. It is mostly two-dimensional art, with some excellent new pieces done just for this auction by some great names, both in the music theatre world and elsewhere. There are also associated prints, glass art, photographic art, music, jewellery and the like. There will be up to 50 pieces in the auction, from small items to big ones, so everyone should take a look.

What is your favourite piece so far?

So far, it is a large oil on canvas done by the German painter H. Berger, circa 1955-1960. He was well known in the market in central Europe after the Second War. It is a soft, naturalistic landscape, nicely framed. It was donated by Tim and Tracy Saunders, owners of Three Squirrels Antiques in Stratford, On. But even small items make a great treasure of this auction’s holdings . There is, we hope, something for everyone.

Well, good luck – any specific needs for someone to see the collection for
auction?

No – everyone will be free to view the items on the website anonymously. To make a bid and win there is a very simple method to register to participate on 32Auctions, Then you can bid away, and you will be able to keep track and watch the bidding go. When someone wins a bid, they automatically get an e-mailed invoice and would pay using one of the simple check-out systems on 32 Auctions to secure their item. Paid for items will be able to be picked up in Toronto or Stratford, by the winner or a rep, or delivered to addresses in the GTA or Stratford area by one of our great volunteers, or if necessary, sent by commercial delivery means. Easy Peezy!

Eclipse hopes to see hundreds of you on the site!
